When Mrs Vickers/old principal spoke too us she looked at us and said i have been here for over 30 years but now it is time to retire and started to cry. Then our new principal said something and we had our karakia and 3 songs. When we were singing most of us started to cry it was a sad moment to go through. It was even a sad moment for the teachers Ms Rylee even started to cry but Mr Reid was the kind person that went to go give Ms Rylee a big hug.
I am a Year 8 student at Ruapotaka School in Auckland, NZ. I am in Room 8 and my teacher is Mr Reid.

School powhiri
On Thursday the 28th of June we had a school powhiri.
If you don't know what that is, it's like a meet and greet. It could also be used in a tangi, haka or marae. My family normally starts powhiris in tangis, its to show love to all people around you and people that have pasted own.
when this powhiri started it was so noisy my principal Mrs Vickers had to keep yelling at us because we were so noisy. If we were in a real powhiri we will get in big trouble by the kaiakos.
